About Me

Where Music Meets Art

I'm Ricardo Candelas, a multidisciplinary artist whose creative journey spans both auditory and visual realms. For eight years, the alto saxophone has been my voice in marching band, where I've learned the power of discipline, teamwork, and performance under pressure.

Beyond the field, I explore music through jazz ensemble performances and intimate piano sessions where I combine playing with singing. Each musical avenue offers a unique way to connect with audiences and express emotion.

My artistic side manifests through the delicate folds of origami and the bold statements of installation art. These contrasting mediums allow me to explore both precision and conceptual thinking.

Creating Beyond Sound

Origami

The ancient art of paper folding has taught me patience, precision, and the beauty of transformation. From simple cranes to complex modular designs, each fold is a meditation. I joined the Origami USA society, devoted to origami, the art of paperfolding and attended the origami convention in New York. I also taught an origami class at St. John's University at the convention.
